Dear FutureMe,
Hey! So, around this time six years ago you were pretty certain Simon would come back from the Marine Corps. and ask you to marry him. Whether or not this is now true or it is utterly and totally ridiculous to you, this is what you figured at age 16.
Some advice I'd like to give you is that it DOES NOT MATTER if you still don't know what you want to do with your life, and it doesn't even matter if things look like crap right now. All things happen for the good of those who love Him, and even if you turn your back on Him, he will never, not EVER turn His back on you. Maybe you're in a relationship right now-- maybe you're not. Maybe you're still hurt and sad from the last thing that didn't turn out right. Chin up. Smile. It's okay to cry, if you need to.
Remember those days of missions trips, when you used to laugh at everything, and lie on the floor, and dance awkwardly in the kitchen.
Laugh and love and dance all you like, because you only get to live this life once, so you better do it well.
Cheers,
Your 16-year-old self
