A letter from Apr 25, 2023

Dear FutureMe, Did you know that it’d be like this? That once you got the one thing that would make you happy- acceptance- that you would still be so unhappy? Happiness is fleeting and barely tangible so hold on to it while you can. You’re 20 today. I hope that doesn’t make you sad because we decided it won’t make us sad anymore. Growing up is necessary for so many reasons. Your teenage years were meant to be the best years of your life, that’s all you wanted. To have one of those fairytale childhoods was all you wanted. But you got what you got and that’s okay. Maybe things will be different in another life. My heart don’t let this make you sad because even though happiness is fleeting it still feels amazing while it lasts, so live in the moment and enjoy every moment of every happy feeling. Don’t let anyone ever bring you down or infect your mind. You are your own peace. Live. Be happy. Chase it even when it’s nowhere to be seen. Happy birthday my love, my soul, my everything, myself. I would never want to be anybody but you. You’re everything younger you dreamed of. Love from, Past self ❤️
