Dear Future Self,
This is a message from 3 years ago! You're like a time traveler! You wrote this letter to yourself as an exercise from the book "How to be Happy or At Least Less Sad." I hope that I still have my copy and that it helped you through some things.
Three years is kind of a long time. A lot could have happened in the past 3 years. I should be graduating from my master's program sometime soon actually. So congrats! If that's not the case, don't beat yourself up. God definitely has a plan in store for us.
Rather than asking you a bunch of questions about our situation, I'd rather just share my hopes for you from 3 years ago. So, you're 24 about to turn 25 in a couple weeks. I hope that you've found some ways to be less sad. I hope that Jacob is still around being a big goofball as usual. I hope that we've found a place of our own or that we're in the process of finding a home. I hope that grad school hasn't been too hard on you. I hope that you still keep in touch with Rachel and Sophie. I hope that Isaiah is happy and healthy and a big little boy now. I hope that things are on the up and up. I hope that we're still going to church. I hope that you haven't lost hope.
Lastly, I hope you know that things are going to be okay no matter how they seem right now. I'm praying for you, future self. I love you.
Love,
Me from 3 years ago
