Dear FutureMe,
I’m writing to you not out of choice, but out of necessity. I’m not really one for sappy letters or any cliché time capsule letters, but I want an A so we have to start somewhere! All jokes aside, I hope you’re well. Have you talked to mom or dad in the past five years? How is Nana and Pappaw? Are you still friends with Vea? Although I’ve never been one for sappy letters, as I stated, I have always been interested in the aspect of the whole “How is my future self?” question. Considering you are expected to be out of high school by now, did you make it into Marshall or something better? I hope you’re studying English like I planned, but who knows! Maybe you have another interest.
I hope you’re well. At the moment, Nana isn’t doing very well. We have our friend Kendra over often and Nana loves it. She loves seeing me happy with friends, she also finds it amusing that everyone in our group has different colored hair! Her mindset is, “If you can get straight A’s with blue hair, you can dye it. I don’t see a problem! You’re merely expressing yourself.” She’s always been supportive of my “weird” lifestyle.
Anyways, I really hope you’re doing well… And if you aren’t- get up and do something! Cherish the people you have in your life! They aren’t around forever. You need to realize this! Do something that would make Nana proud.
