A letter from August 14th, 2018

Dear FutureMe, Hi there. How are you doing? It's me, your three years ago self. I'm 27, you're 30 (!) how's it feel? I started thinking this week about running the LA marathon in 2020. Did I do that? I just signed up for and planned out a bunch of races for the rest of 2018 and into 2019 including the yosemite half, SF rock & roll half, and the SD rock & roll half. I hope you're a marathoner! I know all of my letters nowadays probably start with me saying "omg you have a kid now!" but like, omg. You have a KID NOW. It's just so strange for me to imagine. I mean, you probably do. Lately I feel like I see so many people having issues with fertility and that's never really been something that crossed my mind. So I've been wondering if I'll actually have an easy time having a kid the way I've imagined. So maybe you don't yet? Speaking of kids, I just saw a picture of Daniella's kids on their first day of school today. I can't believe how old they're getting. Lillian is 12 now (so she's FIFTEEN?!) and Eisley is 6 I think? Just ridiculous how quickly time passes. Did mom & dad do their europe trip last year? They're planning it right now. They just decided to leave in February 2020 and come back in November. I want to visit them when they're living in the UK (maybe scotland?) and then a second time, not sure which country yet. Our Germany trip for Lauren's 30th is right around the corner! I was just looking at lists of different street food to try. Was it amazing? Does it feel like ages ago to you? Three years isn't that long but you'll have done so much by then. Lauren and I are about to leave the office to meet Mom at the Grove for dinner. Do you still do that? Or not so much anymore now that she's fully retired? Did she retire from her church stuff too? Anyway, hope your day is going well. I saw that I don't have many letters going to 2021 so I thought I'd give you one more. BYE! - me/you
